CBEF’s Comic Book Educators Symposium develops and delivers innovative programs, products, and services that empower educators to support the success of each learner, using the sequential arts.
Together creators, academics, and fans discuss the intertwined histories, theories, and concepts of the sequential arts. Bringing generations of comics talent to the political, periodical, and underground nature of the comics themselves, the best the world has to offer. Round-table discussions with audience participation focusing on the use of comics in the classroom to teach multimodal literacy.
Our objective is to provide expert and innovative solutions, using the sequential arts, in professional development, capacity building, and educational leadership essential to the way educators learn, teach, and lead. To provide tools and resources to educators, parents, writers, cartoonists and publishers in order to meet our ultimate goal of promoting literacy and improving educational outcomes for all students everywhere.
